I am Chris Johnson, and I write adventures in speculative settings: a little bit of sci-fi, a little bit of fantasy, with a dash of quirky humour.
I live in Brisbane, Australia. Near my place is a lake full of turtles, catfish and birds—and if you’re lucky you might spot something else rising from the water with a hefty splash. (No guarantees, though.)
On occasion, I walk around it to clear my head and allow the ideas to flow into the pages others read.
I’ve lived in different cities, travelled the world, and had my share of adventures — some of which have found their way into my books.
Before turning to writing, I spent years working as a magician and mentalist at special events, performing for all kinds of crowds. Along the way, I met plenty of fascinating people — politicians, business leaders, top speakers, and entertainers. A few of them may have slipped, somewhat disguised, into my stories.
Here, I will share bits and pieces about upcoming books. And if you join my newsletter, you'll see more than even casual visitors here will miss. Things like deleted chapters, advance previews, competitions, and so much more.
